Uncovering de novo gene birth in yeast using deep transcriptomics

We investigated de novo gene evolution in baker's yeast using transcriptomics and ribosome profiling.

We have investigated de novo gene evolution in baker's yeast by comparing the transcriptomes of 11 different yeast species and using ribosome profiling data to identify putatively translated ORFs.
